Tell us why you enquired with Learning People
I was fed up in my sales role and was unable to progress. I wanted a new challenge, it was perfect timing as not long after I started the training I lost my job due to covid and was already part-way through my studies.
Were there any specific skills you wanted to gain or develop by enrolling with Learning People?
I’d always enjoyed IT, so I knew I wanted to explore that area, but I had no idea what area of IT to go into.
Was there a particular reason you chose to enrol with Learning People, and did you speak to any other educators or training providers?
My career consultant was really understanding and patient with me and when I spoke with other providers, nothing else compared to the consultation I had with Learning People. She was knowledgeable about the industry, knew the job roles inside out, broke it down into simple terms so I could understand and matched me to a role that was best for me to move into.
She understood the exact path I needed to take to get me there. It was a no-brainer going with Learning people over the other providers. And I was able to view the learning platform and see the quality of the material before I enrolled.
Tell us what the career consultation phone call was like for you.
The consultation was really helpful and insightful. Answered all my questions and was very reassuring about how the courses help open doors to get into the IT industry.
Tell us about your experience of learning online using our system and the associated labs.
I liked the short bite size videos and the practice tests. I found them very useful. I enjoyed going through the practice labs as it lets you take the theoretical and put it into practice in a live environment.
Were you able to gain support from our StudentCare™ team when you needed it?
Yes, they were quick at getting back to emails and were always helpful over the phone.
Did you utilise any of the course mentoring – if so, how did it help you?
I only used it a handful of times when I got stuck on things that I wasn’t quite sure on. Each time they answered my questions and also sent links to other sites that go into a little more depth on what I was struggling on. I like the fact they are industry professionals themselves!
How did you get on with the practice exams / test preparation?
I really enjoyed them, found them extremely helpful. It was something I used a lot in preparation for the exams.
Did you attend any of our Live Online Classrooms for your courses?
No, but I’ll definitely give them a try when I study other certifications.
Tell us about your experience of working with our Career Services team, and what did you find most useful?
Couldn’t say a bad word about the Career Services team, this was my favourite part of my process with Learning People. They were always there if you needed to prepare for an interview or go through your CV. They really helped boost my LinkedIn profile with the little tips they have.
How did enrolling with Learning People affect your career (new job / promotion etc)?
Enrolling with Learning people enabled me to switch industries during covid. From travel to a service desk analyst. I would have been screwed if I hadn’t enrolled with them just before the pandemic!
Tell us about your new job / promotion.
I am a service desk analyst dealing with 1st and second line issues in an internal IT department.
What has been the best part of your Learning People experience?
Speaking with the career consultant and dealing with the Career Services team.
What advice would you give to somebody who is thinking about enrolling with Learning People?
Just enrol, even if you are having doubts. It’s definitely worth getting on a course, as it helps open so many doors and if you are new to the industry like me, the Career Services team are there every step of the way to prepare you in getting a new role.
